ART I & II - Grade 9/10

Art 1 and 2 courses will alternate annually to enable students to select art in both Grade 9 and 10. They are two different courses, but are of a similar level. Students may choose Art 1 in Grade 9 and Art 2 in Grade 10, or vice-versa.

Students will learn systems of visual thought and strategies for making art. The course develops the basic visual and technical skills needed to complete a range of art works in two and three dimensions. Students apply their knowledge of basic design principles to visual problem solving in a variety of media. Students begin to develop their own visual vocabulary in order to respond to the world they live in. Students are required to maintain a workbook incorporating visual and written ideas
